History

At the beginning of 2019, the two managers of City Mine decided to join forces to start a joint project alongside our own companies. Under the motto with two is better than alone. Joyce himself was confronted with cable waste on a regular basis in his own company that installs and maintains all kinds of industrial electrical installations. Tom had a separate department for green electrical energy in his IT company and installed solar panels. With the arrival of the smart counters that will soon be placed with his customers, it turned out that there is a lot of interest in installing a home battery, but because of its high cost, he was looking for a solution to meet that demand in an environmentally friendly way. come for a fraction of price.

Our vision

With this start-up we want to help with the current trend of recycling and we have chosen two parts of it to take care of. The recycling of cables is not new at all, on the contrary, we want to excel in recycling cable residues that are difficult to recycle, such as all kinds of wires and cables that are very fine. For that there are few on the market that manage to also separate the very fine wires such as from a GSM charger. For the Lithium part we are unique in the country. These batteries are currently ground and melted under heat for the extraction of the metals and cobalt. This not only uses a lot of energy in the melting furnaces to actually have little result. Know that 75% of the cells in a laptop pack are usually not at the end of their lifetime. It is better to first use that half of it again until the real end is reached and only then to melt it.
