On January 1st, 1992 Jürgen Gerosa took over the company. The 3500 m2 site was almost doubled to a total area of ​​6500 m2 and paved in accordance with the latest environmental guidelines. Concrete surfaces with a sewer and oil separator are therefore standard.

Historical

Gerosa was founded in 1954 by Albert Gerosa as a scrap and metal trade. An Opel Blitz served as the first vehicle. At first, only overland was driven and the material was brought directly from the collection point to the larger scrap companies. But soon a permanent customer base was formed and a storage location, where the material could be better sorted and marketed, was needed. In 1961 Albert Gerosa leased a storage space on the railway site in Welzheim in order to be able to use the transport possibilities of the railway. In this context, the corresponding machines and vehicle fleet were expanded. Albert Gerosa recognized the importance of recyclable materials at an early stage and discontinued his operations accordingly. In order to be able to handle the transports more efficiently, it was decided around 1970 to set up a container service. In this way, the customer could also be guaranteed disposal in the waste area. So entrepreneurial foresight created a solid company and jobs.

By recycling metals, the Gerosa company sees itself today as an important link between companies that generate scrap and metal and the industry that uses them to produce high-quality products.

This saves energy on the one hand, and important raw materials that can be fed back into the production processes on the other.
