Stadtbetrieb Frechen is the first point of contact when it comes to waste disposal, street cleaning, the maintenance of green spaces, playgrounds and cemeteries as well as the maintenance of streets and canals in Frechen. Around a hundred employees are out and about in the city every day, emptying garbage cans, picking up bulky waste and green waste, cleaning streets, checking trees or replacing lights on street lamps. In addition, there is a 17-person administrative team that organizes, for example, the collection of bulky waste, advises on waste and disposal or takes container orders. Close to the people of the city, the employees are always ready to listen to suggestions from citizens.

All of our employees are highly qualified and regularly undergo further training so that they stay up to date in their field in our fast-moving times. Also up to date: our fleet of vehicles and machines. From refuse collection vehicles to mowing machines, we use the most modern technologies and security systems. They support us in doing our work efficiently and safely.

A city business for everyone

The roots of our company go back many decades, when the garbage was still picked up with carts. After many years as the “disposal, construction and service company of the city of Frechen” in municipal hands, the city of Frechen took on the Rethmann waste disposal industry, now Remondis, as a partner in 2004. Together they founded the Stadtbetrieb Frechen. The city is still the majority shareholder with 51 percent of the shares. For them, we act as a municipal service provider for the cleanliness and maintenance of numerous public areas. As a certified waste management company, we also take on waste disposal or green space maintenance for private households and companies. And that extends beyond the city of Frechen.
