World Electronics Forum Seeks Solutions to Tackle Global E-Waste Menace

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The World Electronics Forum (WEF) 2019 to be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre in Adelaide, Australia from 4-6 December, 2019 will primarily focus on solutions to tackle mounting global e-waste. The event, which features electronics industry leaders from around the world, is sponsored by Green Industries SA. This is the first time since 2003, that the WEF is taking place in Australia.

The keynote presentation on the topic ‘Electronics in a Circular Economy’ will be delivered by John Gertsakis, Co-founder and Director, Ewaste Watch Institute. The masterclass session on ‘Circular design for electronics’ will be delivered by John Gertsakis and Rose Read, Ewaste Watch Institute.

WEF2019 Conference convenor Donald Kay noted that Electronics Industry Development Adelaide Incorporated (EIDA) is proud to be able to bring the workshop to the community and to share the knowledge about building sustainability into electronic products with the international delegates.

The Conference covers a wide range of topics including Innovation in PCB Technology, E-Waste and the Circular Economy etc. The distinguished speakers from across the sector will share their knowledge through panel presentations and discussions. It features a special session titled ‘The future of Electronics through the eyes of 15 year olds’.
