Wichita Metal Recycler Announces Acquisition of 93-Year Old Family Business

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Wichita, Kansas-based AllMetal Recycling announced acquisition of assets of century old Boge Iron & Metal- a family owned scrap metal recycling business in Wichita. The purchase includes Boge’s scrapyard on St. Francis just south of Kellogg.

The acquired Boge location will henceforth operate under the AllMetal name. With the acquisition, the company will now operate from two Wichita locations. It must be noted that AllMetal Recycling also has locations in Newton and Harper, Kansas.

According to Clint Cornejo, a partner with AllMetal noted that Mr.Boje has a long-standing reputation in the Wichita marketplace and is highly respected amongst his peers in the scrap metal industry across the country. AllMetal will work towards building upon the success, the Boge family has accomplished over the past 93 years, Cornejo said. The acquisition will help AllMetal Recycling to expand its services to the south end of the town in addition to the north end where it currently focuses, he added.

This is the fourth acquisition by the company in the past four years. Earlier in 2012, it had acquired the assets of Kamen Iron & Metal and two other Kansas companies.

AllMetal Recycling noted that there are no immediate plans to bring about changes to the facility. However, it intends to make improvements to the property, the building and the appearance of the yard in future.
