SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): WestRock Company, the leading provider of paper and packaging solutions has announced major expansion to its packaging portfolio by way of acquisition of automated packaging machinery solutions provider Linkx Packaging Systems. The transaction details have not been disclosed.
Linkx Packaging Systems is a leading manufacturer of automated packaging machinery solutions ranging from single-order dispatch systems to fully integrated automation. The various automation solutions offered by the company include factory packaging automation, warehouse dispatch automation and repack packing automation solutions. These solutions offer various advantages such as reduction of material and transport cost as well as maximization of labor productivity.
The Linkx BoxSizer technology platform is renowned for its capability to right-size multiple sizes of cartons on the same machine without halting for changeovers. This complements well with WestRock’s existing automated packaging systems portfolio.
Jeff Chalovich, WestRock’s chief commercial officer and president of its corrugated packaging business expressed great excitement in adding Linkx and its BoxSizer technology to its automated packaging systems portfolio. The acquisition serves well to help the company address the growing need for on-demand packaging, especially for e-commerce applications, Chalovich added.
