Wastequip Joins EREF BOD and Funding Research Scholarships

SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): As further evidence of the company’s commitment to advancing the waste industry, Wastequip, the leading North American manufacturer of waste handling equipment, has announced that Chief Executive Officer Marty Bryant has been appointed to the Environmental Research and Education Foundation (EREF) Board of Directors. The company will also continue its ongoing support for waste industry education and advancement by funding two additional EREF Data & Policy Program interns.  This is the first year that Wastequip has supported this unique and industry-leading internship program.

As a member of the EREF Board of Directors, Bryant will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the Foundation and ensuring that it continues to fulfill its mission. He joins an illustrious group of industry leaders devoted to advancing knowledge and education in the field of sustainable solid waste management and translating that information into best practices.

EREF’s Data & Policy Program (D&P) was created to aggregate industry-related data and policy information, providing valuable unbiased analyses on issues such as sustainability and environmental policy to benefit the solid waste industry and the communities it serves. With 21 internal alumni, the program currently employs seven students, representing engineering, science, sustainability and statistics majors, who assist with data gathering and analysis, an extension of EREF’s mission to educate the next generation of solid waste researchers and technical personnel.

“As one of the leading voices in the industry, Wastequip takes its responsibility to secure the future of the industry and the environment very seriously,” said Bryant.  “There is no finer partner in this effort than the EREF, and I personally am honored to be asked to work with my colleagues from other top companies to make a lasting, positive impact on our youth, our policies and practices and the world around us.”
