SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): Waste Pro continues to celebrate its dedicated team for its safety-focused commitment. Waste Pro drivers were awarded $30,000 in the coveted safety awards in Pembroke Pines, FL. Drivers Peter Baker, Raphael Meme, and Benjamin Given each earned Waste Pro’s $10,000 Safety Award. Peter has worked in the Miramar area, driving residential routes for Waste Pro for seven years. Benjamin has been with Waste Pro for only three years as a residential route driver in Pembroke Pines. Also, a residential driver in Pembroke Pines, Raphael has been with the company for seven years, and this is his second time earning this recognition.
To earn the coveted Safety Award, an employee must exhibit the Waste Pro Way in their daily actions and meet safety-specific criteria spanning over a three-year period. Eligible drivers receive $10,000, and a similar award of $5,000 is offered to eligible helpers. Since the program’s inception in 2004, more than 500 drivers and helpers have earned the award – many earning multiple times – totaling approximately $7.5 million awarded to Waste Pros, who have met the requirements. This program exemplifies the company’s commitment to safety while recognizing the front-line workers for their service and dedication to making safety a priority.
“We are honored that these drivers continue to give nothing less than 110 percent when serving our South Florida communities,” said Kenneth Skaggs, Regional Vice President of Southeast Florida. “Their work sets the standard for excellence in this division and throughout the neighborhoods we serve.”
