U.S. Steel Foundation Announces Relaunch of Scholarship Program

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel announced that the company has relaunched the U.S. Steel Foundation Sons & Daughters Scholarship Program, to support children of company employees who seek to pursue higher education. The application will be open until February 26, 2020. The winners of the scholarships will be announced in late April 2020.

According to company press release, the applicants must be natural children, step-children, legally adopted children or legal wards of active full-time employees of U.S. Steel including the company's U.S. Transtar subsidiary railroads and expatriate employees at Košice, Slovak Republic.

In addition, the applicant must be a current high school senior who wish to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited college or university or vocational-technical school in the U.S. Also, high school graduate in the classes of 2017, 2018 or 2019 who plans to enroll or is currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study are also eligible to apply.

Richard L. Fruehauf, Foundation chairman and United States Steel Corporation senior vice president said that the program will offer additional support to its employees and their families.
