Tata Steel Mining Honoured with Top ICDA Recognition

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Tata Steel Mining Limited announced that it has received the prestigious Responsible Chromium recognition from Paris-based the International Chromium Development Association (ICDA). It has thus become the first Indian mining company to receive the prestigious international recognition.

The company was awarded the recognition following rigorous sustainability assessment by Ecovadis- the rating agency authorized by the ICDA to conduct sustainability compliance assessment of its members. Tata Steel Mining has been awarded a Silver Ecovadis Medal, thus making it one of the companies in the top 25 percentile of companies assessed by Ecovadis across the globe.

Commenting on the landmark achievement, Pankaj Satija, Managing Director, Tata Steel Mining Limited said that the company’s business practices and responsible supply chains have demonstrated their commitment to sustainability. The company will continue to ensure that its sustainability bar will be kept much higher, he added.

Found in 1984, ICDA is a non-profit association that promotes the value and sustainability of chromium worldwide. It must be noted that only 12 ICDA members have received the Responsible Chromium recognition.
