SRS Subcontractors- GAG and DeGrab, Earn R2 Certification

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): West Chicago, Illinois-headquartered ITAD services company Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS) announced that two of its subcontractors in South America have received Responsible Recycling (R2:2013) certification.

The two subcontractors to achieve the prestigious certification are Sao Paulo, Brazil-based GAG Reciclagem De Eletronicos (GAG) and Santiago, Chile-based DeGraf Limitada (DeGraf). Both are already accredited to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

SRS had educated both subcontractors of the benefits of the R2 certification and had offered suggestions for compliance throughout the auditing process. The certification will instil confidence in customers that end-of-life electronic equipment handed over to these subcontractors is processed responsibly, causing minimal or no environmental impacts. Further, it ensures security of data on devices and protection of health and safety of workers as well as the public.

The R2:2013 Standard is the latest version of R2, the electronics recycling industry's leading certification. Each provision of the R2 Standard is designed to help ensure the quality, transparency, and environmental and social responsibility, of R2 Certified electronics recycling facilities.
