Scrap Aluminum Prices: Weekly Market Report- June 28th, 2024

The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract edged higher marginally from $2,444 per tonne a day before to $2,458.50 per tonne.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly price trends of scrap aluminium across worldwide markets for the past week (21st June to 27th June, 2024) on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
North America Prices
The prices witnessed no change when compared with the prior week.
The price of 6063 Extrusions were unchanged at $0.89 per Lb. The Aluminum Radiators prices too were unchanged.
E.C. Aluminum Wire, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions and 6063 Extrusions/Fe prices held steady over the previous week.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery and Chrome Wheels were unchanged during the week ended 27th June, 2024.
The Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices recorded no change over the week. The chart provided below depicts the price movement in the commodity during the course of the week:
Also, the prices of MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC and Zorba 90% NF were flat over the previous week.
USA East Coast Prices
The prices of all aluminum scrap categories held steady during the previous week.
A week-on-week comparison indicates that prices of 6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Radiators, E.C. Aluminum Wire, Litho Sheets and Painted Siding remained unchanged over the week.
The prices of 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions and 6063 Extrusions/Fe witnessed no change.
Also, Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery, Chrome Wheels and Mixed Aluminum Turnings were flat.
The prices of MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC and Zorba 90% NF recorded no variation week-on-week.
USA Midwest Prices
The aluminium scrap prices in the region were stagnant over the previous week.
The price of 6063 Extrusions were unchanged at $0.89 per Lb. The Aluminum Radiators prices too were unchanged.
E.C. Aluminum Wire, Litho Sheets, and Painted Siding witnessed no change in prices.
The below chart represents the weekly price movement in Painted Siding over the prior week.
1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions and 6063 Extrusions/Fe prices held steady over the previous week.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery and Chrome Wheels were unchanged during the week ended 27th June, 2024.
The Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices too recorded no change over the week.
Also, the prices of MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC and Zorba 90% NF were flat over the previous week.
USA West Coast Prices
The prices of all aluminum scrap categories remained unchanged during the previous week.
A week-on-week comparison of prices suggests that 6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Radiators, and E.C. Aluminum Wire remained unchanged over the week.
LItho Sheets prices were flat at $0.81 per Lb during the week ended 27th June, 2024. The weekly price chart of the commodity is provided below:
Painted Siding prices too held steady over the week.
The prices of 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions and 6063 Extrusions/Fe witnessed no change.
Also, Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery, Chrome Wheels and Mixed Aluminum Turnings were flat.
The prices of MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC and Zorba 90% NF recorded no variation week-on-week.
China Prices
The Chinese aluminum scrap prices recorded decline during the previous week.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices declined the most. The prices of both these categories of copper scrap recorded week-on-week dip by 1.39%.
The Old Cast scrap prices ended the week at CNY 17,700 per MT, falling by CNY 250 per MT during the week. The weekly price change in the commodity is depicted below:
Also Old Sheet prices recorded similar decline in prices, registering a fall by CNY 250 per MT over the prior week. The price variation in Old Sheet during the week is shown in the below graph:
All other scrap categories such as Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Transformers, UBC, Zorba 90% NF, 6063 Extrusions, E.C. Aluminum Wire and Aluminum ingots too recorded week-on-week decline in prices.
India Prices
The Aluminum utensil scrap prices recorded decline by 0.90%, falling to INR 219,000 per Ton during the week ended 27th June, 2024.

The prices of Aluminum ingots too were down during the week.
Europe Prices
The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) held steady during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
Meantime, the closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,502.50 per tonne as on 27th June, 2024. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract edged higher marginally from $2,444 per tonne a day before to $2,458.50 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks declined over the previous day to close at 1,032,875 tonnes on 27th June, 2024, as compared with 1,038,725 tonnes on 26th June, 2024.
