SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): As part of efforts to address the issue of responsible recycling of discarded electronics items, Samsung Electronics America has entered into a new partnership with the D.C. The new partnership will offer monthly electronic waste recycling events throughout the year. The events will accept used electronic equipment from residential customers as well as commercial businesses in Washington, D.C. for safe recycling.

The accepted devices include computers (desktops, laptops, tablets, small-scale servers), computer peripherals (computer monitors, desktop printers less than 100 pounds, keyboards, mouse devices, speakers), televisions and television peripherals (DVRs, DVD Players, VCRs, signal convertor boxes, cable & satellite receivers, game consoles).

Mark Newton, Head of Environmental, Regulatory Affairs, and Sustainability at Samsung Electronics America noted that the partnership with Wisetek and the D.C. Library System will help to advance its environmental objectives and make e-waste recycling more accessible to residents and businesses in the region.

Zack Boorstein, Vice President, Wisetek USA stated that the company is happy to participate in the initiative. Furthermore, it is delighted to be chosen to recycle the collected e-waste from across the D.C. region.
