Samsung Join Hands with Leading Tech Repair Brand to Reduce Electronic Waste

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Technology major Samsung has formed a new partnership with leading tech repair brand uBreakiFix to launch a new device recycling program, aimed at reducing electronic waste. The partnership will make electronics recycling more accessible to customers, with uBreakiFix’s over 550 U.S. locations accepting used devices for responsible recycling.

The outlets will accept used devices of any brand, make or model, which will be responsibly recycled by a professional repair technician. The uBreakiFix store will process the devices and forward them to a Samsung-authorized recycling partner, where they will be refurbished or processed into raw commodities.

Justin Wetherill, President and Co-Founder of uBreakiFix noted that the company is proud to play a key role in diverting e-waste, by making device repair significantly more convenient and cost-effective than replacement. The support of partners at Samsung will take the effort a step further by making device recycling more convenient, he added. Meantime, Ramon Gregory, SVP Samsung Care said that the commitment to involve e-Stewards certified recyclers will provide the assurance to customers that their devices are safely and properly recycled.

The two companies have been partners in various initiatives since 2018.
