SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Roseburg- the family-owned company that offers high-quality wood products to its clients, has announced major restructuring of its operations. This is in line with the earlier announced strategic plan.
As part of the process, the company has decided to close its particleboard plant in Dillard, Oregon. The existing employees at the plant will be offered employment opportunities elsewhere in the organization. The closure is expected to affect nearly 179 employees. Meantime, some of the machine centers will continue to operate for up to two months, said the company press release.

Jake Elston, Senior Vice President of Operations, Roseburg stated that the decision to stop production at the facility has never been an easy one and admitted that the transitions will definitely have significant impacts on the employees at the facility. The company has already begun working with the employees in identifying suitable opportunities within the organization. Meantime, the particleboard manufacturing operations at Missoula, Mont.; Simsboro, La.; and Taylorsville, Miss will continue to operate as usual, Elston added.
At the same time, Roseburg will invest in new technology at its manufacturing operations in the western region.
