SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): ReSource Waste Services (RWS), a leading processor of construction and demolition waste in the New England region, announced that it is expanding its executive team to lead the Company through an exciting period of growth. Jack Canty has been named President & Chief Operating Officer. Greg Leahey, a co-founder of RWS who previously served in that role, has assumed the role of Chief Strategy Officer and will focus his efforts on growth initiatives. Greg also has joined the Company’s Executive Committee overseeing the RWS enterprise.
“ReSource Waste Services has grown significantly in recent years, and we have many projects that are expected to lead to further growth,” said Larry D. Richardson, Chief Executive Officer of ReEnergy Holdings, which has a significant ownership interest in RWS. “It became clear that we needed to optimize the executive leadership of the Company. Jack had already been working with the Company as its Chief Financial Officer and he has a strong record as an executive in the recycling sector. We are pleased that Jack will be stepping into this new role and that Greg will have the opportunity to focus his attention on the Company’s important growth initiatives.”
Prior to his new appointment, Canty served as Chief Financial Officer for RWS and ReEnergy Holdings LLC. Among other positions, he previously served as the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer of Weitsman Recycling and as Vice President of Finance of Agway Energy Products. He also operated his own consulting practice for three years that focused on identifying and implementing performance improvement opportunities for his clients. Canty has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Alfred University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Canty will be based in Boston.
In a related move, Peter Jerome has been named Chief Financial Officer of RWS and ReEnergy Holdings after serving as the Company’s corporate controller. Prior to his time with the Company, Jerome held a number of senior finance roles, including CFO and Controller, at several bioscience companies in upstate New York and North Carolina. Jerome will be based in ReEnergy Holdings’ corporate office in Albany, NY. The Company’s growth initiatives include the following:
