SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Phoenix-based nation’s leading solid waste and recycling company, Republic Services, Inc., announced opening of a new plastic recycling complex in south side of Indianapolis. The groundbreaking ceremony was held at the site of the facility in 1002 W. Hanna Avenue last Thursday.
The recycling complex will span over a 286,000 square feet area, comprising of two side-by-side buildings. One building will be called the Polymer Center, which will be dedicated to plastic recycling. The other building, which will be called Blue Polymers, will be used for plastics manufacturing.

Republic Services termed the new facility as the first such integrated plastic recycling facility in the entire nation. It will help to address the rising demand for recycled plastic from consumers as well as packaging manufacturers. The commitment to use recycled content in packaging has boosted demand for superior quality locally sourced recycled plastic. The production of high quality recycled plastics will help customers achieve their ambitious recycled content targets.
The first Polymer Center is slated to open in Las Vegas later this year. The Indianapolis center will be the second such facility by Republic Services.
