SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): A new recycling facility could be on the way near Fruita, Colo. thanks to a proposal from a plastics recycling firm.
The plastics recycling facility proposal is being discussed by Mesa County Planning. A private entity has proposed a facility that will focus on recycling plastics and be mainly powered by a solar array.
“These sort of entities that are coming into the valley are bringing with them some sort of economic development,” Sean Norris, Planning Manager for Mesa County, said.
“We do not look at them as ‘because this is going to bring some money into the county, we’re going to approve it.’ That is not the approval criteria whatsoever.”
