Plastics Recycler Declares Major Expansion of South Carolina Operations

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Flint, Michigan-headquartered ACI Plastics announced plans to invest up to $10 million in expanding operations in its Oconee County, South Carolina operations. The company will partner with waste and recycling service provider PreZero on the expansion project.

According to ACI press release, the project comprises of installation of new machinery and equipment, aimed at boosting its plastics recycling capabilities. The state-of-the-art machinery will be capable to process a specific category of mixed rigid plastics, which are currently being shipped to overseas destinations due to lack of adequate domestic processing facilities. The planned expansion is expected to be completed by April next year, the press release noted.

Scott Melton, President, ACI Plastics stated that the company is excited to expand its capabilities at the Westminster, South Carolina location. The expansion will allow the company to handle larger amounts of raw materials and further expand its customer base in the Southeast region, he added.
