Plastics Recycler Celebrates Opening of New Indiana Facility

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): A new production facility is coming up in Salem, Washington County, Indiana. Tian Yuan-the leading plastic resin materials producer has announced that it will invest $2.3 million to lease and install equipment at the new plant which will be located at 410 S. High St. in Salem. It must be noted that Tian Yuan was recently established as a joint venture with Indiana-based Shaw Brothers Co, Inc. in order to complement the operations of its recycling division.

According to company press release, the facility is expected to begin production during this month itself. The works to set up the machines are in progress.  Tian Yuan has already started hiring staff for key positions. By 2021, the facility, operating in three shifts, is likely to generate nearly 35 jobs. The 27,500 square-foot manufacturing facility will produce plastic resin materials which will be used in extrusion processes. The new plant will complement Shaw Brothers’ existing production capabilities in the region. Further, it will help the company to meet growing demand from domestic as well as international customers.

Denise Hsiao, General Manager for Shaw Brothers stated that both the joint venture partners are highly pleased to invest in Salem. He appreciated the assistance provided by the state of Indiana and the city of Salem. The company looks forward to growing its business in the region, Hsiao added. Salem Mayor Troy Merry stated that the city is much pleased about the jobs and investment brought by Tian Yuan.
