BRUSSELS (Scrap Monster) : The BIR World Recycling Convention and Exhibition will honor Ms Cheung Yan-the Chairlady of the leading Chinese paper manufacturer, Nine Dragons Paper Group.
Ms Cheung Yan will be conferred with the BIR Papyrus Award during the Keynote session at 11.30 AM on 28th May 2013 as part of the BIR World Recycling Convention and Exhibition to be held in Shanghai from 26th to 29th of this month. The award is being presented in recognition of her massive contributions to the growth of the paper industry.
Ms Cheung Yan-the co-founder of Nine Dragons Paper Group, has over 16 years of experience in paper manufacturing and over 26 years of experience in recovered paper recycling and international trade. She is one among the top 100 billionaires in China as per Forbe’s list. In 2007, Ms. Cheung was awarded the "Entrepreneur of the Year in China 2007" by Ernst & Young and in 2008, she was accredited as a "Leader Figure" by China Paper Industry Chamber of Commerce and was awarded "China Charity Award 2008" by China Paper Industry. She has also been awarded with Chinese Chamber of Commerce Contributions Award, Outstanding Person on Energy Saving and Emission Reduction in China 2009 Award and Outstanding Contribution Award on Poverty Alleviation and Benefiting the Community by a Businessman in the Private Sector in Guangdong Province.
Ms Yan is also the founder of American Chung Nam, Inc, the world’s largest exporter of recovered paper material, headquartered in Los Angeles.
Established in 1995, Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) Limited is the world's largest in environmentally friendly recovered paper based paper manufacturing in terms of production capacity. ND Paper and its subsidiaries primarily produce linerboard, including kraftlinerboard, testlinerboard and white top linerboard, high performance corrugating medium and coated duplex board.
The BIR Papyrus Award is an honor given away by the BIR to the pioneers in paper recycling industry.
