Panasonic Boosts Partnership to Promote Safe Disposal of E-Waste and Plastic Waste

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):  Panasonic- the electronics industry leader announced its commitment to raise awareness on responsible disposal of electronic and plastic waste, while celebrating the International Electronic Waste Day.

The new initiative by Panasonic India aims to raise awareness about e-waste by partnering with nearly 200 schools based in Delhi-NCR region. It will focus on efforts to develop sustainable practices and impart green knowledge through active participation of schools and communities.

In line with its vision of building ‘A Better Life, A Better World’, the company has been involved in various initiatives to encourage responsible disposal of electronic and plastic waste in and around school campuses. The various campaigns organized by the company have helped in creating awareness about the harmful impacts of unsafe waste disposal and the importance of proper recycling to ensure environmental safety. In addition, the company has donated recycling bins to schools as well as resident welfare associations (RWAs) to encourage collection.

Commenting on the initiative, Manish Sharma, President, and CEO, Panasonic India & South Asia urged people, especially the youth, to become active agents of change. The company’s active engagement with the student community will spread awareness and encourage youth to follow environment-friendly practices, said Ritu Ghosh, Head, Corporate Affairs & CSR, and Panasonic India.
