SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Novelis, Inc.- the global leader in aluminum rolling and recycling announced that its recycling plant in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Korea has achieved an important milestone. The plant achieved the prestigious Performance Standard Certification by the Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI).

The certification demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustainability and underscores its ambition to become the world’s leading provider of low-carbon, sustainable aluminum solutions. Furthermore, it strengthens the company’s ability to meet the rising customer demand for certified, sustainable aluminum products.
Recently, the Yeongju Recycling Center, the largest of its kind in entire Asian region, had reached a key milestone by processing 120 billion aluminum cans since its opening in 2012. It must be noted that seven of Novelis’ manufacturing plants in the Europe had recently achieved ASI certification. The company aims to achieve ASI certifications for the Performance Standard and Chain of Custody for all of its manufacturing facilities before end-2022.
