Novelis Celebrates Completion of $4.5 Million Investment at Warren Facility

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Atlanta-headquartered aluminum rolling and recycling major Novelis, Inc. hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the $4.5 million investment announced in Nov ’17 at its Warren, Ohio facility. Those in attendance were Mayor William “Doug” Franklin and representatives from the offices of Senator Sherrod Brown and Senator Rob Portman, in addition to top company officials.

Commenting on the event, Paul Nelson, Plant Manager, Novelis stated that it is an exciting day for Warren facility as it marks completion of the upgrade works at the facility. The investment will help Novelis to sustain its Warren business for many years to come. Further, he reiterated the company’s commitment to shaping a sustainable world in partnership with other stakeholders. Meantime, Tom Boney, Novelis vice president of operations, noted that nearly 70 percent of the investment was spent locally. Also, Warren Mayor Doug Franklin said the investment is a testimony to the company’s commitment to its workforce.

The investment was utilized towards building a new pretreatment process, which is expected to make Novelis more versatile by adding different product lines to its portfolio in future, thereby expanding beyond the manufacture of aluminum beverage cans. The installation of the new equipment was carried out without affecting the plant operations.

The Novelis Warren facility employs almost 80 people, generating approximately $7.3 million in wages.
