Newly Launched LoopSecure Service to Track Used Electronics

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): San Francisco Bay Area-based Greenlyfocus announced launch of new service called LoopSecure service that keeps track of used electronics from the time it leaves the enterprises’ facility until its arrival at an IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) processing facility.

Dennis Ward, CEO of Greenlyfocus stated that LoopSecure will address the risk of data loss between the material generator and the ITAD processing facility. The service will expand the ITAD’s visibility and also secure the loop.

It uses trackers containing rechargeable batteries, thus ensuring reuse. These trackers are programmed in such as way that they report their present location more frequently, when compared with the GTS downstream trackers. The trackers use tamper alarms and could be attached to electronics with the help of magnets or adhesives.

The ITAD facilities that subscribe to the service could provide the tracking service to their customers for free or for a charge. The vendor and the enterprise will both have access to the LoopSecure dashboard, thus providing online information about the location of the material being tracked.

The LoopSecure service, presented at a conference held on April 14th, 2021, is said to be still in its pilot stage.
