New Indianapolis Recycling Facility Opens its Doors

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Illinois-headquartered Quincy Recycle has announced opening of its new recycling facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. The new facility will help the company better serve its growing customer base in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky regions. The new facility will further expand the company’s U.S. Midwest footprint.

The company had purchased the property in early-October this year. The construction activities, including installation of equipment, have already begun. Production is expected to commence before the end of 2018. The company expects a total investment of more than $2.5 million in property and equipment. Incidentally, this is Quincy Recycling’s seventh recycling facility in Indianapolis.

Philip Hildebrand Jr., VP of Finance and Administration stated that the new facility will help the company to extend its geographic reach and growth opportunities. The facility is a direct result of the opportunities created by the dedicated team members in New haven plant, located about 130 miles away from it, he said.

The equipment at the facility includes two industrial balers with feed conveyors, dual shaft shredder, various pieces of rolling stock, in addition to other material handling equipment. The rail access facilities at the site will open up commodity markets in the U.S. and Mexico, ensuring sales of fiber and plastic commodities from the facility.

Founded in 1974, Quincy Recycle is a major industrial recycler of paper, plastics and food waste. The company also deals with purchase and sales of gaylord boxes.
