New $90M Bottling Plant Receives Temple City Council Nod

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Ontario, California-based Niagara Bottling LLC will invest $90 million in building a new bottling plant in the Temple Industrial Park area in Central Texas. The plant will be built on a 40-acre parcel of land and will have a square-foot area of 450,000. The company received final approval by Temple City Council last Thursday.

According to company press release, the construction of the plant will be carried out in two phases. The initial phase will involve capital investment of $70 million, generating 49 jobs. In second phase, Niagara will invest around $20 million. The second phase will create nearly 21 jobs, it said.

The City, while granting approval for the project, has committed investments of around $2.8 million in support of the project. It will construct a 2,100-foot public roadway at the southern border of the site. In addition, the City will also install water and wastewater lines to the proposed site. The Council meeting held Thursday also gave approval to 10-year tax abatement for the property.

Brian Hess, Executive Vice President, Niagara stated that the combination of competitive and high quality location, infrastructure and workforce made the company choose Temple site as the location for their new plant. Adrian Cannady, president and CEO of the Temple Economic Development Corporation (EDC) extended all support to ensure the long term growth and prosperity of the new bottling facility.

The company hopes to begin construction in March this year. The plant is expected to become operational by Q4 2019.
