National Waste & Recycling Association Elects New Leaders to Future Industry Leaders Alliance Board

SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): Recently, the National Waste & Recycling Association’s (NWRA) Future Industry Leaders Alliance (FILA) Board met to elect new board members and officers for 2025. FILA, an individual affiliate group under NWRA, provides education and networking to young waste and recycling industry leaders, mentoring future trailblazers to prepare them for executive advancement and professional leadership.

“NWRA is proud to foster an environment where young leaders can thrive, share ideas, and offer solutions to challenges facing the waste and recycling industry,” said NWRA President and CEO Michael E. Hoffman. “We are pleased to welcome our newly elected board members and officers, whose dedication and vision will help drive FILA’s mission.”

“I am honored to be the association lead with FILA and witness firsthand the passion, dedication, and innovation these bright young professionals bring to our industry,” said NWRA’s Senior Vice President and Chief of Safety and Standards Kirk Sander. “Their collaboration and forward-thinking mindset are driving meaningful progress, and it’s inspiring to see them tackle challenges together with such enthusiasm. The future of our industry is in great hands with these emerging leaders.”

FILA’s new co-chairs are Tyler Ohlmansiek (Mack Truck) serving a two-year term and Mike Thomson (Republic Services) serving a one-year term. FILA officers are Secretary Kemrey Kidd (Rehrig Pacific), Treasurer Abel Cota (Troiano Waste), Marketing & Membership Chair Jocelynn Clindaniel (Municipal Equipment), Immediate Past Chair Eric Voss (Big Truck Rental), and chair emeritus John Paglia III (Florida Express Waste and Recycling). New FILA board members are Manish Anandpara (LRS), Sylvain Auger (Machinex), Trevor Black (Coastal Waste & Recycling), and Wes Glakas (Sierra Container).

FILA thanks departing board members, Jaclyn Carrigan (Breakaway Communications), Sean Mason (Waste Connections), and Martin Mattsson (Volvo) for their service and contributions.
