SANTIAGO (Scrap Monster) : The annual CESCO week 2013  is scheduled to be held in Chile during April 8th to 12th. The leaders of the red metal industry would gather in the 12th World Copper Conference to discuss and debate the new challenges facing the market.

CESCO Dinner will gather the world´s most important leaders of mining companies, metal manufacturing companies, investment banks, metal traders, engineering and shipping companies among others.

The previous year had been an eventful one, with three of the world's largest mining companies -- Anglo American, BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto -- all with fresh executive faces on top.

The prices of copper have cooled off at a time when the costs of mining activities have shot up. The margins are reeling under pressure. There are other issues that continue to squeeze the industry such as permitting problems, higher operating costs, scarcity of resources, higher power tariffs, tougher government regulations and  worker unrests to name a few.

Around 2,600 mining executives, investors and traders are expected to attend the dinner April 10 at Santiago's Club Hipico race course. The London Metal Exchange CEO Martin Abbott will deliver the keynote address. Insightful presentations and in-depth workshops are also in the offing during the event.
