Turkey's ferroalloy imports advanced by 8.7% month-on month to 37,718 metric tons in August this year and down 27.25% year-on-year, as per the latest data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK),

ANKARA (Scrap Monster): Turkey's ferroalloy imports advanced by 8.7% month-on month to 37,718 metric tons in August this year and down 27.25% year-on-year, as per the latest data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK),
According to the TUIK data, the value of these imports amounted to $51.6 million, increased by 3.45% as compared to July and down 35.45% year-on-year.
In the first eight months of 2012, Turkey's ferroalloy imports totaled 279,746 metric tons, decreased 6.7% compared to January-August 2011.
Imports from Ukraine in August this year amounted to 14,073 metric tons, dropped by 15.4%, while imports from Russia in August amounted to 6,328 mt, up 33%, both compared to the same month of 2011. Meanwhile, India exported 5,832 mt of ferroalloys to Turkey in August, up 4.7 % year-on-year.
