Thailand's scrap imports down 7.6% in April y-o-y

BANGKOK (Scrap Monster): Thailand imported 176 thousand tons of scrap in April, down by 7.6% year on year.

Among them, 61 thousand tons were imported from the US, up by 4.7%; 32 thousand tons were from the UK, dropped by 46.4%.

In addition, the country’s scrap imports in the first four months of this year totaled 665 thousand tons, soared by 26.5% year on year.

Accordingly to estimates Thailand’s scrap imports in the entire 2011 would be at 1.99 million tons, Yieh Corp reported.
