Metals volume dips 18% Y-o-Y in September: CME Group

CME Group reports metals volume averaged 374,000 contracts per day in September, down 18% from 453,000 in the same month last year.

CHICAGO (Scrap Monster): CME Group reports metals volume averaged 374,000 contracts per day in September, down 18% from 453,000 in the same month last year.
However, this was up 29% from 290,000 in August. Meanwhile, for the recently completed third quarter, metals volume averaged 327,000 contracts, down 28% from 454,000 in the same period a year ago.
Also, the July-September average of 327,000 contracts daily is down from the three-month rolling averages of 330,000 as of the end of August, 370,000 as of the end of July and 372,000 as of the end of June.
