Metal premiums remain steady this week in Europe

Premiums for physical metals in Europe has remained steady this week, while the traders are eyeing for Chinese shopping as the major Chinese companies have reportedly started restocking their inventories

LONDON (Scrap Monster): Premiums for physical metals in Europe has remained steady this week, while the traders are eyeing for Chinese shopping as the major Chinese companies have reportedly started restocking their inventories.

According to traders, the premium for copper in Rotterdam CU-GA-ROT, paid above the London Metal Exchange (LME) cash price CMCU0, was at around $75-85 a tonne versus $70-80 in late May.

Premiums for duty-paid physical aluminium AL-WDP eased from record highs in recent weeks to $205-235 a tonne over LME cash prices CMAL0, compared with quotes of $210-240 in May.

Premiums for duty-unpaid AL-WDUP material were quoted at $140-150 a tonne. read more on this
