As per the latest statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics, the Chinese refined aluminum output recorded growth in February year-on-year. The refined copper output however continued its fall.
SHANGHAI (Scrap Monster) : As per the latest statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics, the Chinese refined aluminum output recorded growth in February year-on-year. The refined copper output however continued its fall.
The refined aluminum output for the month of February was 1.73 million tonnes, which is 11% higher than the output during February last year.
The combined output during the initial two months of this year is 15% higher than the same period during previous year. The net production during the first two months was 3.51 million tonnes.
On the other hand, the refined copper output extended its downward journey after hitting record highs in December. February recorded the lowest copper output during the last 9 months. The net copper output fell by 1.83% from the previous month.
The net copper output which had touched a record high of 580,000 tonnes in December had dropped by almost 15% to 492,000 tonnes in January. February saw the net output shrinking by another 1.8% to 483,000 tonnes.
