SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Egyptian billionaire-owned La Mancha Holding S.à.r.l. announced creation of La Mancha Fund SCSp, which will be primarily dedicated to gold mining investments, in addition to investments in battery metals. The newly announced fund will be open to new investors as well. It will be advised by La Mancha Capital Advisory LLP.
The press release issued by La Mancha noted that first closing has just been completed, with the addition of La Mancha’s gold mining assets. It has also received investment of $100 million from an unnamed strategic partner. With this, the fund is now invested in excess of $1.4 billion in assets. It is currently evaluating new investment opportunities and will open itself to qualified investors at the earliest, the press release said.

The Fund will focus on widening its exposure to the gold and precious metals sector, with the flexibility of investing in EV battery metals. It seeks to acquire significant stakes in junior gold mining companies identified to have a strong managerial and geological potential. It will promote operational efficiency improvement projects, unlock organic growth and support external growth opportunities.
Furthermore, the fund aims to improve the ESG performance of the gold mining sector, thereby making the sector more appealing.
