iShares Gold Trust Led Gold ETF Inflows in North America

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):  The report published by the World Gold Council (WGC) noted that gold ETF inflows into North American funds were offset by fund outflows from European funds during Q2 this year.

The North American and European funds together added 43.8 tonnes during the quarter. The North American funds recorded an inflow of 10.5 tonnes, whereas the holdings in European ETFs declined by 9.4 tonnes. The funds listed in Asia witnessed net inflows of 2.3 tonnes. Also, Other regions saw marginal outflow of 0.5 tonnes.

Among North American funds, iShares Gold Trust added 4.4 tonnes in the month of June this year. It was followed by SPDR Gold Shares which saw addition of 2.5 tonnes. The holdings in CI Gold Bullion Fund rose by 1.4 tonnes, whereas those in SPDR Gold MiniShares were up by 1.0 tonnes.

The fund outflow in European region was led by iShares Physical Gold ETC, which lost 8.9 tonnes. In second place was Invesco Physical Gold, which reported outflows of 4.3 tonnes. The losses were offset to some extend by Xtrackers IE Physical Gold and Amundi Physical Gold, which gained by 1.6 tonnes and 1.4 tonnes respectively.

The Asian inflows were led by Bosera Gold, which recorded gains of 0.9 tonnes. The South African fund 1nvest Gold lost 0.6 tonnes of its assets during the month.
