SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Georgia-Pacific, which has several facilities in Deep East Texas, has made the Forbes list of America’s Best Large Employers for 2024. According to Georgia-Pacific officials, the list is compiled based upon a survey of more than 170,000 people working for companies that employ more than 5,000 people.
In this region, Georgia-Pacific facilities include; Pineland Lumber, Diboll Lumber, Diboll Particleboard, Corrigan Plywood, Camden Plywood, Camden Lumber, and a regional sales office.
All total, approximately 1,800 people are employed by these facilities and in turn the economic benefits trickle down to logging companies, the businesses that fuel and perform maintenance on log trucks and logging equipment, and those who grow the pine trees needed to create the wood products.
