Ganzhou Kaiyuan Announces Smelter Maintenance

SEATTLE (ITRI.CO.UK): Ganzhou Kaiyuan is the latest Chinese tin smelter to announce annual maintenance.

In an announcement published on 20 June, the company said that considering the state of the smelting equipment, it would replace the furnace bricks and complete maintenance on its smelter.

On 14 June, a collection of Chinese smelters announced that they would go offline to complete their annual maintenance. The largest, Yunnan Tin, will be closed for up to 50 days.

ITRI View: Maintenance at Ganzhou Kaiyuan is expected to last around one month. Based on ITA production estimates, this will impact around 1,500 tonnes of refined tin production. In total, some 13,500 tonnes of refined tin will not be produced during June-July due to smelter maintenance.
