Forest Stewardship Council Declared New Director Board Members

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Canada welcomed the new members of the Board of Directors.

Nadine Roach will join as an individual member of the Aboriginal Chamber. Nadine has been a member and long- time resident of Garden River First Nation. She has several years of experience in connection with forestry. She continues to support initiatives and projects that bring about capacity and confidence in First Nation Development.

FSC Canada welcomed Arthur Tsai as individual member, Economic chamber. Currently, Arthur Tsai is a critical member of Canfor’s senior management team. Since 2012, Arthur leads Canfor’s solid wood FSC chain of custody obligations and requirements. In 2013, he completed the FSC COC lead auditor training course.

Rod Gallant is the addition to FSC Board, Private and Public Workers of Canada, Social Chamber. He is rrently the president of Local 6 as well as the 2nd Vice president of the PPWC. Also, FSC welcomed back Gerard Szaraz, Nature Quebec, Environmental Chamber.

The Council acknowledged Elston Dzus, and John Caluori for their dedicated service over the years and wished them success with their future endeavours.

FSC Canada had recently updated its regional forest management standards after five years of consultation. The new standards are aimed at addressing the most pressing issued facing the Canadian forests.
