SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): ERI- the U.S.-based fully integrated IT and electronics asset disposition provider and cybersecurity-focused hardware destruction company announced that it has become the first and only e-waste recycler in the industry to receive the Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 1 Compliance Certification, subsequent to successful completion of audit process.
According to ERI, the SOC 2 examinations for Type I compliance testing were conducted in accordance with standards from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The testing confirms that the company’s systems and controls meet SOC 2 audit standards.
John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO, ERI noted that its partners and customers can feel confident that the company is making every investment to establish and maintain the highest level of security and compliance at the highest level. The certification proves that its systems and controls for handling data can be fully trusted, he said. ERI is now embarking on SOC 2 Type II compliance, Shegerian added.
ERI noted that the SOC 2 Type 1 certification reinforces its ongoing commitment to security, data protection and responsible recycling of electronic devices.
