SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Domtar Corporation announced new mill managers for its Kingsport, Tennessee and Nekoosa, Wisconsin mills.
According to press release issued by the company, Marty Barfield will be the new manager of the company’s Kingsport mill. Also, Marty Bukhardt has been named the manager of Nekoosa mill.
Mike Garcia, president pulp and paper division, Domtar Corp. stated that the company is excited in promoting the two internal candidates to mill management positions. Both the mills will continue to drive value for the company, aided by their commitment to production, employee safety, strategic planning and reliability.
Barfield joined Domtar in 1989. Prior to this, he has worked in a number of technical, engineering, maintenance and operational positions at Procter & Gamble. Immediately after joining Domtar he was assigned the task of boosting operational responsibility at the Marlboro and Plymouth mills. He has been serving as the production manager of Plymouth mill and has been leading various continuous improvement projects to increase the mill’s throughput significantly.
Before joining Domtar in 2017, Bukhardt had served Verso Corp. and Alliant Energy in diverse roles of increasing responsibility. While serving as the operations manager of the Nekoosa, Wisconsin mill, he has made significant contribution in increasing the mill’s pulp production by reducing chemical usage.
