Direct Pack Announces Acquisition of Mexican PET Recycler

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Azusa, California-headquartered Direct Pack Inc. (DPI) announced major expansion to its global operations through acquisition of Guadalajara, Mexico-based recycler of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The acquired Atmosphera Verde operates a recycling facility with total annual operating capacity of approximately 20,000 tons of PET.

According to DPI, the acquired facility will be renamed to Direct Pack Recycling. The business will play major role in creating the material needed in manufacturing of Direct Pack’s Bottlebox containers.

Craig Snedden, president of Direct Pack Inc. said that the expansion of the company’s operations to include recycling is a natural fit. It will allow the company to deliver more affordable, customized packaging solutions by reducing waste and minimizing the overall environmental impact. The acquisition reiterates its deep commitment to sustainability and innovation, he added.
