SEATTLE (Waste 360): The spread of COVID-19 is having an impact on the U.S. recycling industry, and according to The Independent, there has been a 50 to 60 percent drop in commercial recycling. This decrease is mainly due to non-essential businesses closing their doors, a temporary requirement in many states.
Although commercial recycling has seen a decrease, residential recycling is expected to rise, as more Americans are working from home and/or following shelter in place rules.
