Columbus ITAD Firm Witnessed Major Capacity Addition

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Northwest Columbus-headquartered Sage Sustainable Electronics has undergone major capacity expansions, thereby supporting jobs and sustainability causes.

The company press release noted that it had recently doubled its Charter Street facility from 38,000 square feet, thus bringing its total footprint to 76,000 square feet. Earlier this year, it had almost quadrupled its total space in Sparks, Nevada facility to over 140,000 square feet. The company plans to open a new repurposing center in 2021, in response to the favourable changes in market demand, mainly triggered by the recent decision by Arrow Electronics to shut down its ITAD business.

The company was able to sustain its business during the Covid-19 shutdowns as well. Sage’s fee-based offerings helped it maintain the business, thereby offsetting the impacts due to sharp drop in inbound volumes for processing following shutdown of businesses and institutions. The redeployment of used electronic devices was the major driver during these tough times.

The company will finalize its decision to open additional processing capacities after monitoring the progress of Covid-19 recovery, said Jill Vaské, co-founder and president of Sage.
