The campaign focused on educating residents about the environmental and financial benefits of waste pick-up and recycling in their communities. Furthermore, it focused on making women aware about the benefits of waste-free environment. This resulted in collection of around 557 kilograms of plastic waste, which otherwise would have polluted the environment. Incidentally, Coca-Cola’s collection of plastic bottles has exceeded over 1.5 billion in Nigeria alone.

Commenting on the milestone achievement, Nwamaka Onyemelukwe, Director-Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability, Coca-Cola Nigeria said that the campaign was in line with its objective to develop and empower the communities where it operates and promote sustainable development in the country.
