Boise Cascade Announced Expansion of Minnesota and Northern Kentucky Operations

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Boise, Idaho-headquartered Boise Cascade- the leading North American manufacturer of wood products and wholesale distributor of building materials announced plans to expand its building materials distribution (BMD) operations in Minnesota and Northern Kentucky.

According to company press release, the BMD Minneapolis branch located at Lakeville, MN will add 13 contiguous acres to the existing property. Also, the BMD Cincinnati branch will relocate to a new 200,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Walton, KY., which will work in tandem with the existing yard in Erlanger, KY. It must be noted that the company had announced construction of a new distribution center in Marion, OH.

The expansion will expand the company’s engineered wood products (EWP) line. Furthermore, it will add a new range of products including pine boards, premium grade lumber/studs, and other industrial products to its offering. The additional space will minimize the usage of offsite storage areas, boost capacity and result in overall improvement of operational efficiencies, said Dave Stone, Branch Manager, Lakeville.

Meantime, the move to new facility will enhance the company’s general and specialty lines, in addition to adding new products to its portfolio. It will lift the company’s plan to expand its engineered wood products and commodity lumber business, noted Mark Nelson, Manager, BMD Ohio Valley.
