SEATTLE (Waste 360): Over a month ago the City of Aspen suspended cardboard recycling for businesses due to a $16 million budget cut.
While cardboard recycling is still included in residential waste services by city ordinance, business owners are now sending their cardboard to landfills without this service. And with more online ordering due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is more cardboard than ever.
The City of Aspen is suggesting that business owners drop off their cardboard at the Pitkin County Solid Waste Center.
