Arizona E-Waste Recycler Breaks Ground on Major Expansion

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Meza, Arizona-based ER2- Electronics Responsible Recyclers announced major expansion plans to its headquarters facility located at 730 E. Southern Avenue. A ceremonial groundbreaking on the proposed facility expansion was held last Thursday, which was attended by several distinguished guests including Mesa Mayor John Giles among others.

The expansion will add additional 40,000 square feet to the facility, thus more than doubling its existing capacity of 38,000 square foot. The expansion will bring in additional inventory storage space. The dock space will be expanded to accommodate the increasing traffic. In addition, the expansion will result in a visually improved façade and parking area. Furthermore, the expansion will lead to consolidation of Arizona processing operations by bringing all of them under one roof. It must be noted that the company currently carries out certain processing activities at its Chandler facility.

Chris Ko, CEO, ER2 stated that the proposed expansion will lead to expansion of footprint at its Southern Avenue facility. Furthermore, it will help to increase the positive impact on customers, employees and the surrounding communities. The expansion denotes a new chapter in the company history, he added.

According to rough estimates, the R2 certified electronics recycler processes nearly 6 million pounds of used electronics per year. Its arm Revive IT is involved in sales of refurbished electronics.
