ArcelorMittal Honored with Top Excellence Awards by Leading Automakers

ArcelorMittal Honored with Top Excellence Awards by Leading Automakers

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Three key automakers have recognized ArcelorMittal for their excellence in development and supply of innovative steel products and solutions for their leading automobile brands. The steelmaker received top honors from Honda, General Motors and Ford Motor Company.

ArcelorMittal’s inner and outer door ring system for the Honda 2019 Acura RDX vehicle earned the company Honda R&D America Inc.’s Excellence in Innovation Award. It is the first steel company to receive the prestigious award. The door ring system reduces vehicle weight and improves vehicle mileage, without compromising safety. The award was presented at the recently held Annual Honda Supplier Conference in Toronto.

AM/NS Calvert-the company’s joint venture with Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metals Corporation was adjudged the winner of Supplier Quality Excellence Award-2017 by General Motors. The award recognizes manufacturing locations that meet or exceed very stringent set of quality performance standards. The plant was responsible for supply of quality products that met GM’s requirement all through the previous year. Also, ArcelorMittal was recognized with the coveted IMPACT Diamond Award by GM for its excellence in supplier diversity program.

In addition, the company recently received highest rating from Ford’s annual Suppliers Performance Review (SPR). This is the seventh consecutive year that the company has received the top honor. In the rating which included seven of the company facilities, it arrived first in six out of eight performance categories.

Brad Davey, CEO, ArcelorMittal North America noted that top recognitions from the leading industry partners is a testament to its employees’ hard work and dedication to excellence. The company will continue to offer highest levels of products, solutions and service to automotive customers, he said.
