SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide markets for the past one-week period (November 1 to November 7, 2024) on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
The regional scrap prices reported mixed trend on the Index. Most of the scrap categories held steady over the day. A few aluminum scrap varieties recorded decline. Also, a couple of items witnessed rise in prices week-on-week.
The largest price drop of the week was seen in Mixed Aluminum Turnings, which recorded a decrease from $0.50 per pound to $0.49 per pound. The commodity saw a 2.0% weekly fall in prices. Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe had a slight decrease in price as well, dropping by 0.58% and 0.67%, respectively.

E.C. Aluminum Wire and 5052 Scrap prices increased in comparison with the previous week.
In the meantime, all other scrap categories held steady on the Index.
Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices recorded biggest dip over the week, registering 2.0% decline from $0.50 per Lb to $0.49 per Lb. Also, modest weekly declines by 0.67% and 0.58% were seen in Al/Cu Radiators/Fe and Al/Cu Radiators.
The rest of the scrap aluminium categories, except a few, recorded no change on the Index. E.C. Aluminum Wire and 5052 Scrap edged higher week-on-week, recording an increase of 0.85% and 0.98% respectively.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Radiators, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 6061 Extrusions, 6063 Extrusions/Fe were flat on the Index.
Also, Breakage 50% Recovery, Chrome Wheels, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC Zorba 90% NF, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers prices recorded no variation when compared with the previous week.

Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe had a slight decrease in price as well, falling by 0.59% and 0.68%, respectively.
E.C. Aluminum Wire and 5052 Scrap prices increased in comparison with the previous week. E.C. Aluminum Wire prices recorded a minor increase of $0.01 per Lb, from $1.18 per Lb to $1.19 per Lb. The following chart shows the week-over-week price fluctuation for E.C. Aluminum Wire:
The rest of the aluminum scrap varieties held steady over the week.

The Chinese aluminum scrap prices inched higher over the week.
Old Cast and Old Sheet saw thier prices increase from CNY 18,350 per MT to CNY 19,000 per MT each during the week.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions increased by 3.5% week-on-week. The prices of the commodity increased from CNY 18,850 per MT to CNY 19,200 per MT during the week. The weekly price variation in 6063 Extrusions is seen in the chart below:
All other scrap categories, including E.C. Aluminum Wire, Aluminum Ingots, Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Transformers, UBC and Zorba 90% NF also recorded positive price movements during the week.
The prices of scrap aluminum utensils saw a little increase of 1.74%, edging higher to INR 234,000 a tonne during the week ending on November 7, 2024.

The prices of Aluminum ingots also were up by1.67% during the week.
The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) remained constant during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,682.00 per tonne as of November 7, 2024. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract edged higher from $2,549.50 a day before to $2,652.50 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks declined over the previous day to close at 734,400 tonnes on November 7, 2024, down slightly from 736,900 tonnes on November 6, 2024.
